CTB-Locker Ransomware for WordPressI Love WordPress, but KEEP IT UPDATED!
There is an new strain of ransomware hitting the streets which is encrypting WordPress websites in exchange for a Bitcoin payment.
The CTB-Locker is designed specifically to target WordPress websites, encrypt their contents and demand a .4 bitcoin ransom to get the decryption key. ($233.00 CAD)
So far most of the affected websites have had out of date versions of WordPress and Plugins.
The moral of this story is keep your site updated and clean.

I called Geoff in a pinch. I found him first page of Google - that's always a good sign when looking for a web developer! My web team was in Spain and my plugins weren't speaking with one another and needed immediate help. Geoff was knowledgeable, friendly, and completely understood my sense of urgency. Education is a huge part of building a website! Geoff actually created a program to lead you through building your own. He is patient and explain the Industry Terminology well. We just had Geoff ad a lead page and I am very happy with the results - thanks for your patience Geoff!

Geoff built our company website and I couldn't be happier. It looks amazing and the best part is our phone is starting to ring off the hook!
